This collection contains one photograph of Rev. Charles Atherton, who served the Methodist Episcopal Church during the latter half of the 1800s. Thirty-six of those years were in the Kansas Conference.

Scope and Contents The Bailey Family collection consists largely of materials curated by Fred and Ethel Bailey from their missionary trip to Mexico from 1907-1911. Documents found in the collection include sermons written by Fred and Charles, church documents pertaining to the Methodist and Catholic churches, correspondences from before, during, and after their stay in Mexico, and various personal papers. Abstract

This series contains the handwritten correspondence and journals of Milton Mars Haun, a circuit preacher who came to Kansas in 1857. He served in the Kansas, South Kansas, and Southwest Kansas conferences and preached the first sermon in Newton, Kansas in a saloon. In total, Haun served 15 churches in Kansas and died in 1902.

Abstract Hyde Park United Methodist Church closed in January 1999. The records in this collection provide information about the church's history, beginning in 1883 as the First Church of the United Brethren in Christ.
