Biographical or Historical Information

Mark Allen Anderson was born January 17, 1954, in Herington, Kansas; his parents were James L. and Marilyn (Kuhn) Anderson. He attended Hope High School (Hope, Kansas) and then received his BA in English from Washburn University in 1976. He earned his M.Div. from Nazarene Theological Seminary in 1984, graduating magna cum laude. He was ordained deacon (1985) and elder (1991) in the Kansas West conference and served the following appointments: Enterprise-Detroit-Bethany (1984), Canton-Galva (1987), LaCrosse (1991), Mullinville (1996), leave of absence (1999), Coats-Lake City-Glendale (2004), Hill City-Bogue-Morland (2011, Tribune-Towner (2013). He withdrew from the ordained ministerial office and terminated his conference membership on Feb. 1, 2014. He married Diana Stael (born March 5, 1954) in Topeka, Kansas, in 1978. Their marriage ended in 1979. He married Deborah Anderson (born July 3, 1957) in 1981; their children were Dylan Mark (born 1984) and Drew Roy (born 1987).
