Biographical or Historical Information

Harriet Katherine Sterling was born in Kansas in 1883. She attended Baker University and married Reverend Gordon B. Thompson. They had two children, Jean and Gordon. While her husband served as University Pastor at the University of Kansas in 1916, Harriet created the Kappa Phi Club, a Methodist group for young women which grew into an organization with chapters at multiple universities in the United States. She passed away in 1965.
