Biographical or Historical Information
Friendly Acres opened in 1962 and has operated continuously as a retirement home since then. It became a Methodist home after the merger of the Methodists with the Evangelical United Brethren in 1968, and it has also since changed its name to Asbury Park, but it is still in existence in the same location on 14th Street in Newton, Kansas.
