Biographical or Historical Information

In the late 1950s, three Kansas City, Kansas Methodist churches-Quindaro, Washington Avenue, and Queen's Garden-decided to merge into one large church. Land for a new building, located at 51st Street and Parallel Avenue, was purchased in 1959, and construction began in 1961. The name Trinity was chosen to reflect the joining of the three previous congregations. In 1970, the Quayle Memorial church also merged with Trinity. Housed in a large building with stained-glass windows designed by Odell Prather, Trinity operated at the 51st and Parallel location for nearly 60 years. It closed in 2019.
