Biographical or Historical Information
John L. Allison was born June 6, 1902, in Rapid River, Michigan. Baptized in 1914, he united with the United Brethren Church by letter in 1925. He was licensed to preach in 1925 in McConnell, Illinois, by Dr. W. Perkins.
Rev. Allison was admitted to the Kansas conference in 1930 as a licentiate. He was ordained an Elder in 1934 in Iola, Kansas, by Bishop Statton.
Rev. Allison served in the charges of McConnell (1925-1926) and Glasford (1926-1928) in Illinois before joining the Kansas Conference. His charges there included Salem-Berryton (1938-1939), Lawrence Valley Chapel (1939-1940), Fort Scott (1939-1940), and New Lancaster (1941-1944).
