Biographical or Historical Information
Emra O. Allen was received by transfer from the Southern Illinois Conference to the Kansas Conference in 1920, when he was ordained deacon (see Conference Minutes, 1920, pages 386 and 400). He had received his high school equivalency and had attended a summer session at the State Normal in Illinois. At the time of his transfer to the Kansas Conference, he was placed in the studies of the third year; he was advanced to the fourth year in 1921 according to the Conference minutes of that year (page 10). His records indicate that he was appointed to the Manhattan district. His student record contains a note indicating that a letter from Marion, Illinois, dated March 30, 1921, said he was going to school in the east. It also contains a notation from the 1923 Conference minutes, page 270, that he transferred to the Southern Illinois Conference. Rev. Allen is not listed in the Conference Journal Memoirs Index.
