Biographical or Historical Information
George Wiley Anderson was born February 23, 1932, to George William and Crystal Ruth (Young) Anderson in Emporia, Kansas. He was the youngest child, and the only son, in a family of five children.
He attended Baker University for one year and then attended College of Emporia. He received his divinity degree from the Iliff School of Theology.
Rev. Anderson was accepted into the Kansas Conference on trial in June 1954 and continued in 1955-1959. He was ordained Deacon on June 10, 1956.
Rev. Anderson was appointed to the Pomona-Michigan Valley charge in 1950; to Prescott-Mantey in 1952; and to Lena Valley-Olpe in 1953. In 1954-1958 he was left without appointment to attend school; in 1959 he served Hoyt-Mayetta.
He and his wife Carol were married on June 22, 1958.
Rev. Anderson was discontinued on trial in 1960.
