Biographical or Historical Information

Campus Ministries Connect, a multi-denominational organization, began at the University of Wichita in 1957; at that time, it was called United Christian Fellowship. The university changed its name to Wichita State University in 1964. The UCF has also changed its name several times, becoming United Christian Campus Ministries, Ecumenical Christian Ministries, and, most recently, Campus Ministries Connect. Records for all these different incarnations are held in this collection. Although this organization is still comprised of several denominations, the majority of the financial support now comes from the Great Plains United Methodist Conference, and the leadership is based at University United Methodist Church in Wichita.
