Abstract
Hyde Park United Methodist Church closed in January 1999. The records in this collection provide information about the church's history, beginning in 1883 as the First Church of the United Brethren in Christ. In 1946 two churches merged, United Brethren and First Church of the United Brethren in Christ, to become Hyde Park Evangelical United Brethren Church. Another merge occurred in 1968, Evangelical United Brethren Churches merged with Methodist churches and Hyde Park Evangelical United Brethren Church to become Hyde Park United Methodist Church.
