Biographical or Historical Information
Alice Ann Callahan was born February 24, 1926 and died April 12, 2004. She was a major figure in the arts in Baldwin Kansas. She taught music theory, piano and other arts related courses at Baker University from 1953 until 1989. She graduated from Baker University in 1948 with a bachelor's degree in music. She married art professor Tom Russell in 1978. In 2001 a Distinguished Alumni Award was given to her. For a PhD thesis she studied Osage tribal dances. The PhD was granted to her at Syracuse University, New York in 1977.
