Biographical or Historical Information

Edward W. Allen was born in 1839 in Indiana and died 1931 in Kansas at the age of 92. He was accepted into the Western Wisconsin Conference in 1866, and into the Northwest Kansas Conference in 1886. His appointments included Mankato (1887), Kirwin (1888), and Concordia (1896). He was also a delegate to the General Conference in 1896. Other appointments might be found in the Conference minutes. Rev. Allen is buried in Topeka Cemetery (Shawnee County, Kansas) alongside his wife Antoinette Allen (1841-1920) and son Clyde W. (1880-1952). He is mentioned in the roll of the Honored Dead in the Northwest Kansas Conference Journal for 1931, page 28, but there were no full-length memoirs written that year.
