She first became a church member in 1948 at the First Presbyterian Church in Tucson, Arizona. As the child of missionaries, she lived her childhood years in countries around the world. She graduated from high school in Ankara, Turkey, returning to the U.S. to attend Oklahoma State University (1965-1967) and St. Paul School of Theology, Kansas City, Missouri (1988-1992). She entered the ministry from Oppelo UMC, Oppelo, Arkansas, and served congregations in Arkansas before moving to Kansas. Rev. Anderson served at the Courtland and Montrose UMC churches from 1991 to 1995. While there, she was ordained as deacon at the 1993 Kansas West Annual Conference session. Other appointments included Haven (1995-1998), Colby (1999-2000), Ness City (2001-2002), Ness City-Bazine (2003-2004), Coldwater-Wilmore (2005-2009), and Enterprise-Herington (2010). She served the Marion Valley UMC in her retirement (2013) and as of this writing (2019) she listed on the Great Plains Conference website as serving at the Burdick UMC in Marion. Some of her Conference records may be found under the surname Talbot, which she re-adopted as her legal name at some point.
