Biographical or Historical Information
Edgar Colfax Anderson was born January 18. 1869. He was a graduate of Hedding College in Abingdon, Illinois.
He married Grace A. Spaulding (1873-1951). Their daughter was Marion Eleanor (Anderson) Milberger (1913-2009).
Rev. Anderson joined the Illinois Conference on trial in 1894 and served the Oneida charge until 1896. His other Illinois appointments included Oquawka (1897-1898), Wenona (1899-1903), and Geneseo (1904-1905). Relocating to New Mexico, he served the New Mexico English Mission – Santa Fe (1906-1907), East Las Vegas (1909-1913), and Roswell (1914-1916).
After transferring to the Oklahoma Conference, he was appointed to the Alva district and the Guthrie district.
In 1926 he transferred to the Kansas Conference. He served the church at Abilene (1926-1928), Neodesha (1928-1932), and Osawatomie (1933-1936).
Rev. Anderson died August 10, 1936. He is buried at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, Harvey County, Kansas. His wife, who died in 1951, is buried at his side.

Abstract
This collection contains information on Rev. Edgar Colfax Anderson, who served the M.E. Church in the Conferences of Central Illinois, Oklahoma, and Kansas until his death in 1936. He also spent a decade in the churches and missions of New Mexico in the early 1900s.
