Biographical or Historical Information

Tod Edwin Anthony was born October 20, 1960, in Satanta, Kansas. His parents were Loy LaVon Anthony and Fae Ann Odgers (Caskey). His first church membership was at the Satanta Methodist Church in December, 1960. Rev. Anthony attended Garden City Community College (1978-1980) and Kansas State University (1980-1982), earning a B.S. in Agricultural Education. He earned ten additional credit hours at K.S.U. before attending Asbury Theological Seminary, where he was awarded the M.Div. degree. He was admitted on trial to the Kansas West conference in 1988 and became a full member and elder in 1990. He served as secretary and treasurer of the Concordia Central Sub-District from 1987-1989. Rev. Anthony’s pastoral appointments included Hunter-Pleasant View (1986-1988), Almena-Long Island (1991), Dighton (1995-1999), and WaKeeney-Prairie Home (2000); he then served at Lakin/Kendall for 12 years. He became senior pastor at First UMC of Garden City in 2016. Rev. Anthony married Elaine Justine Taber (born 1964) in Fallston, Maryland, on February 6, 1988. They have four grown children.
