Biographical or Historical Information
John Michael Mason was born in West Virginia in 1860. He became a pastor in the South Kansas Conference in the late 1800s and served at appointments in Galena, Columbus, Independence, and Iola. In 1910, Mason was charged and convicted of untruthfulness by a jury of church men, but appealed to the annual conference and was acquitted in 1911.
Mason continued to work as a pastor after his acquittal. He transferred to the Kansas Conference and served there for several years. In 1925 he joined the St. Louis Conference and was appointed to several churches in Missouri. He was superannuated in 1940 and passed away in 1942.
