Abstract

The collection contains two letters written in 1947 while Horace and Carol were missionaries in China. The first letter describes their experiences with Chinese Communist soliders and the second letter gives an overview of various experiences since the first letter.

Biographical or Historical Information

Horace Elliott Dewey was born April 20, 1889 in Welshfield, OH. His wife, Carol Dewey, was born in Scioto, Ohio on February 17, 1891. They were married September 13, 1916. They had three children together and served as Methodist missionaries in China and Japan. Horace died December 3, 1968. Carol died January 25, 1985.
