Biographical or Historical Information
William Franklin Anderson was born in West Virginia on April 22, 1860, and earned his bachelor’s degree in divinity in 1887. In that year he was ordained a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was made a bishop in 1908 and served in many ministerial, academic, and administrative positions in New York, Tennessee, Ohio, Massachusetts, and Florida until his death in 1944.
Bishop Anderson presided over the Southwest Kansas Annual Conference, held in Wellington, Kansas, in 1923.
