Biographical or Historical Information
Deborah Kay Ackman was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on March 31, 1948; her parents were the Rev. Frederick Ackman and his wife Marjorie. In 1970 she graduated from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She graduated from the Chicago Theological Seminary in 1975 and received her first full-time appointment to the LaCygne-New Lancaster charge (Ottawa district) in June of that year. She was granted full membership in the Kansas East conference and ordained elder in June, 1978.
Rev. Ackman served at the Rossville UMC in Rossville, Kansas (Topeka District) from 1977 to 1978.
She is listed as being assigned to an honorable location in 1981. A penciled note on her information card indicates that she discontinued her membership in 1986.
