This collection consists of two items: a printed copy of Reverend Van Buskirk's memoir from the Southern California-Arizona Conference Journal of 1970, and a Korean-language printing of the Gospel of John.

Biographical or Historical Information

Reverend Van Buskirk was born in rural Missouri and attended medical school in Kansas City. He joined the St. Louis Conference in 1906 and served as a medical missionary and a bishop in Korea between 1908 and 1931. Upon returning to the United States, Van Buskirk joined the Southern California Conference and lived in that state until his death in 1969.
