Centennial Commission of Kansas Methodism
Scope and Contents
The Centennial Commision of Kansas Methodism was created in 1929. It is not to be confused with the materials in the Kansas United Methodist Archives celebrating the centennial of the state of Kansas; rather, this commission commemorated the beginnings of the Methodist church in Kansas Territory, which go back to the establishment of a mission to the Shawnee tribe in 1830. A booklet detailing the history of Methodism from that date was printed by the commission. A single copy of it comprises the entirety of this collection.
